In the seminar “Cultural Analysis: from the 1960s to the 2010s,” students learn the key analytical methodologies and apply them in practice. The seminar provides a historical overview of various analytical methodologies developed within cultural studies and European ethnology in the 20th and 21st centuries. It is structured into three parts:- Narrative, focusing on structuralist methodologies for the analysis of myths and popular culture;
- Knowledge and Power, with an emphasis on discourse analysis, representation analysis, and the interpretive turn;
- Process, Scale, and Intensity, in which students are introduced to the most recent concepts and methodologies in cultural analysis.
