Our internal colloquium serves as a platform for substantive exchange among staff members of Cultural Studies\/European Ethnology and guest lecturers from other universities at home and abroad, thus acting as a meeting point for intellectual discourse. On selected dates during the semester, current or planned research projects, publications, and projects will be presented and discussed. Students are cordially invited to attend the event to gain insight into the work of the staff and participate in the current research discourse. It is also possible, in consultation with the subject department or study management, to attend this event as a substitute for selected<\/strong> courses.

Volumes 1 to 24 of this series were published under the name “Mainzer Beitr\u00e4ge zur Kulturanthropologie \/ Volkskunde” [Mainz Contributions to Cultural Anthropology \/ European Ethnology]. The series “Mainzer Beitr\u00e4ge zur Kulturanthropologie\/Europ\u00e4ischen Ethnologie” [Mainz Contributions to Cultural Anthropology \/ European Ethnology] was published by the Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Volkskunde in Rheinland-Pfalz e.V.<\/a><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The series “Mainzer Beitr\u00e4ge zur Kulturanthropologie\/Europ\u00e4ischen Ethnologie” [Mainz Contributions to Cultural Anthropology \/ European Ethnology] reflects the research foci of the Mainz location. Above all, qualification papers and the results of conferences are published in the form of collected volumes. The Mainzer Beitr\u00e4ge combine an ethnologically oriented, comparative and historically arguing contemporary science with the cultural analysis of the regional. The focus is on the perspectives of the acting people and their efforts and strategies to shape everyday life and meet its challenges and problems.
