Dafina Gashi is a doctoral candidate in Cultural Studies/European Ethnology at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Čarna Brković. Her doctoral thesis focuses on global beauty practices, neoliberal subjectivity, and cosmetic surgery in post-independence Kosovo. Previously, she completed a master’s degree in Anthropology and Visual Studies at the University of Siena, where she conducted ethnographic research on the bodies of migrant women in Italy. Her research interests include Visual Anthropology, Gender and Sexuality, and the Anthropology of the Body and Embodiment.
